Volume and capacity
Volume measures the space occupied by a solid and uses cubic units. The volume of a rectangular prism is V = abc, while the volume of a cube is V = a³.
Connection with capacity
1 dm³ = 1 l and 1 cm³ = 1 ml, linking volume and capacity units. Do not confuse volume with surface area: volume has three dimensions and cubic units.
